Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 12ย eggs, beaten
  • 1 ยฝย poundsย ground breakfast sausage
  • 16ย ouncesย shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 7ย slices ofย white bread, torn into pieces

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off the grease and set aside to cool. Pour the eggs into a lightly greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate large bowl, combine the sausage, bread, and 12 ounces of the cheese. Mix well and pour this into the egg mixture. Top with the remaining 4 ounces of cheese and cover with foil.
  4. Bake at 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) for 15 minutes, then uncover and continue baking until the casserole is golden brown and bubbly.
